LCA
At Welding Alloys, Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) are a key tool in understanding and improving the environmental performance of our products. LCAs allow us to quantify the environmental impacts associated with every stage of a product’s life cycle – from raw material extraction and manufacturing, through distribution and use, to end-of-life treatment.
To carry out these assessments, we use dedicated LCA software that enables us to evaluate environmental impacts based on real production data and standardised impact methodologies. This ensures a consistent, reliable, and science-based approach to environmental evaluation.
We perform LCAs on a range of our products, including flux-cored welding wires, in order to assess and continuously improve their environmental performance. In addition, we develop comparative LCAs between standard industrial components and industrial parts repaired using our hardfacing and recharging solutions. These studies allow us to demonstrate the environmental benefits of extending component lifetime instead of replacing parts with new ones.
We also conduct LCAs on demand, in close collaboration with our customers, to support their specific applications, sustainability goals, and internal reporting requirements.
Through this approach, we are able to provide transparent, data-driven insights into environmental performance and actively support more sustainable decision-making in industrial wear and repair solutions.
