This is after a total throughput of 1.1 million tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>Pieter du Plessis, Group Product Engineer, Integra\u2122, confirmed that while the hardfacing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/services\/prestations-de-services-integra\/methodes-dapplication\/applications-de-rechargement\/millcarb\/\">Mill<em>Carb<\/em>\u2122<\/a> rolls did show some signs of wear (5-8mm), the surfaces remained smooth and did not exhibit high-wear areas typically seen on standard <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/application-industrielle\/broyeur-a-rouleaux-verticaux\/\">vertical roller mill<\/a> rollers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first inspection took place in December 2020 and the results were so impressive the customer postponed maintenance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/application-industrielle\/broyeur-a-rouleaux-verticaux\/\">vertical roller mill<\/a> rolls, and continued with the <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/services\/prestations-de-services-integra\/methodes-dapplication\/applications-de-rechargement\/millcarb\/\">Mill<em>Carb<\/em>\u2122<\/a> rolls for the next year,\u201d said Integra\u2122 &#038; Maintenance Manager at Welding Alloys (Far East) Sdn. Bhd, Gianni Morselli.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis inspection we are reporting on here was conducted in May 2022 and the results were everything we expected and then some,\u201d added Gianni Morselli. \u201cOn top of the decrease in wear rate, the even wear pattern exhibited on the <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/services\/prestations-de-services-integra\/methodes-dapplication\/applications-de-rechargement\/millcarb\/\">Mill<em>Carb<\/em>\u2122<\/a> rolls has helped to maintain stable mill output for longer time periods.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis resulted in prolonged constant power consumption per tonne of coal ground,\u201d said Integra\u2019s Pieter du Plessis. \u201cThese factors combined contribute to a significant decrease in total cost of ownership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fast Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/services\/prestations-de-services-integra\/methodes-dapplication\/applications-de-rechargement\/millcarb\/\">Mill<em>Carb<\/em>\u2122<\/a> hardfaced rolls have completed around 20,000 hours and will continue until the next major inspection in 2023<\/li>\n<li>The<a href=\"https:\/\/welding-alloys.zerobox.co.za\/fr\/application-industrielle\/broyeur-a-rouleaux-verticaux\/\"> vertical roller mill<\/a> solution will provide continuous operation capability for at least three years without the need for re-welding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr Venugopal Thota, Managing Director of Welding Alloys (Far East) Sdn.
