Le niveau d\u2019usure d\u00e9pend bien s\u00fbr de la nature des particules abrasives, de leur vitesse de l\u2019angle d\u2019incidence et de leur concentration dans le flux.<\/p>\n<p>La particularit\u00e9 de l\u2019usure par \u00e9rosion est que dans la plupart des cas il est compliqu\u00e9, voire impossible, d\u2019inspecter les \u00e9quipements en marche pour v\u00e9rifier le niveau d\u2019usure. Une fois la pi\u00e8ce perc\u00e9e, il est trop tard pour intervenir. Bien souvent le percement entra\u00eene soit une diminution de la performance de la pi\u00e8ce et\/ou de l\u2019installation compl\u00e8te soit l\u2019arr\u00eat de l\u2019installation. C\u2019est pour cette raison que la plupart des pi\u00e8ces qui subissent de l\u2019\u00e9rosion sont prot\u00e9g\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re pr\u00e9ventive.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019usure peut appara\u00eetre sur de grandes surfaces comme de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s localis\u00e9e. La protection des pi\u00e8ces soumises \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9rosion \u00e9vite une d\u00e9faillance grave des pi\u00e8ces ou des installations. Pr\u00e9sent dans toutes les pi\u00e8ces tournantes traitant des flux charg\u00e9s, l\u2019\u00e9rosion concerne une \u00e9norme quantit\u00e9 de pi\u00e8ces et d\u2019applications dans toutes les
