Les vitesses \u00e9lev\u00e9es des particules g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es au cours de cette op\u00e9ration entra\u00eenent une usure abrasive et une \u00e9rosion qui affectent \u00e0 la fois la partie sup\u00e9rieure du dispositif, compos\u00e9e de la cage rotative et des aubes, et la partie inf\u00e9rieure, o\u00f9 se trouve le c\u00f4ne assurant le retour des particules \u00e0 retraiter. Si les s\u00e9parateurs ne sont pas inspect\u00e9s et entretenus comme il se doit, l\u2019op\u00e9ration de s\u00e9paration et la qualit\u00e9 du produit fini seront d\u00e9grad\u00e9es, ce qui peut entra\u00eener un arr\u00eat forc\u00e9 de l\u2019installation pour r\u00e9parer ou remplacer la pi\u00e8ce
